Henry Ewert

Henry Ewert, BA, BEd, ARCT (Royal Conservatory of Music of Toronto), was the director of a church choir for 12 years in addition to organizing the church's extensive music program.

While living in Germany, he was a broadcaster for CBC-FM with Canada's military in Lahr (Black Forest), during which time he presented his weekly, hour-long presentation called Sunday Concert.

He has been the accompanist for a number of choirs, both in Germany and the Vancouver area. In 1977, he assisted in founding The Opera Club, an organization still going strong, and for which he has presented more than 32 one-hour lectures on various operatic subjects.

He has written reviews of opera performances for both the Metropolitan Opera's magazine and Opera Canada, and has taught a number of opera and music courses for SFU Seniors Program. Among his four books, is one commissioned for EXPO86.
