Michael Harrison

Michael Harrison, an award-winning broadcast journalist, worked for fifteen years with the Australian Broadcasting Corporation as a commentator and interviewer specializing in opera.  Among well known singers he has interviewed are Placido Domingo, Jose Carreras, and the late Joan Sutherland.

He has taught courses for SFU’s Seniors Program and was closely associated with Alan Aberbach in the program's Opera Studies series. He has also taught for UBC and Langara College, and is the former Director of Education for Opera Pacific in California.

Harrison is currently the script writer and creative producer on a film of Lanza’s life starring James Marsden and featuring the voice of Canadian tenor Richard Margison. He produced a six-hour film on Lanza for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation in 1991.
