Susan Haid is assistant director of planning for Vancouver South at the City of Vancouverwhere she leads a team in developing community plans, policy and rezonings. Prior to this, she was the manager of community planning and sustainable community development at the District of North Vancouver leading the development of the OCP, town centre and climate action plans. She has 23 years of experience in community, regional, sustainability and environmental planning including with Metro Vancouver and the City of Burnaby.
Susan holds a masters degree in Community and Regional Planning and honours undergraduate degrees in Landscape Architecture and Biology. She is a member of the Canadian Institute of Planners, Planning Institute of BC and the BC Society of Landscape Architects.
She is passionate about integrating place-making, ecological systems, long-range, sustainable policy and effective engagement in building great cities.
