Susan Haid is deputy director of planning – long-range and strategic planning at the City of Vancouver. This role includes City-wide and regional policy and regulation, community planning, housing policy, sustainability and the City Design Studio divisions. The focus of this group is to develop, implement and monitor big picture plans, policies and major projects including a City-wide plan, community and area plans, and TOD and major projects such as the Jericho Lands. She has 23 years of experience in community, regional, sustainability and environmental planning with Metro Vancouver and the City of Burnaby.
Susan holds a master's in community and regional planning and honours undergraduate degrees in landscape architecture and biology. She is a member of the Canadian Institute of Planners, Planning Institute of BC and the BC Society of Landscape Architects.
She is passionate about integrating place-making, ecological systems, long-range, sustainable policy and effective engagement in building great cities.
