Bruce Jackson

Bruce Jackson has worked in the OH&S field for 24 years. Prior to his current role as a safety consultant, he spent 20 years with WorkSafeBC working in a variety of capacities—as a prevention officer, instructor, and in prevention quality assurance. Bruce currently provides safety management systems development, Certificate of Recognition auditing (manufacturing sector), safety training, and incident investigation services to industry.

He is a graduate of the BC Institute of Technology in both OH&S and operations management and holds a graduate degree in human factors and safety management systems. Bruce has a Diploma in Adult Education and a Provincial Instructor Diploma, and has studied business and economics at Simon Fraser University. He’s a Canadian Registered Safety Professional, a Chartered Member of the Institution of Occupational Safety & Health (IOSH) and a Certified Environmental, Safety and Health Trainer. He is also currently pursuing two OH&S-related graduate degrees.

Bruce actively volunteers his time to support the health and safety profession by serving as a member of the CSSE's Outreach Committee and as chairperson of both BCRSP's Lower Mainland Regional Screening Centre and ASTTBC's Construction Safety Officer Registration Board. The Canadian Society of Safety Engineering selected Bruce as the recipient of their Volunteer of the Year award in 2018 for his contributions to supporting the health and safety community.
