Reena Lazar is a conflict resolution and communications specialist. She is fuelled by her passion for personal growth and transformation and is the co-founder of WILLOW—an end of life service provider that has created and led volunteer and team development opportunities and presentations for clients including the BC Cancer Agency, Family Services of the North Shore, Mountain View Cemetery, the Society of Notaries Public BC, Surrey Hospice Society and the Vancouver School of Theology.
Committed to lifelong personal development, Reena has an eclectic background and education. She is a graduate of the BEyond Yonder Virtual School of Community Deathcaring in Canada, an intensive program that focuses on grief, disposition, rituals, body care, advance planning and funeral alternatives.
She also holds a bachelor of architecture from McGill University and a master of international affairs from Columbia University. In addition, Reena has completed many communication training courses, including courses at the Centre for Conflict Resolution at the Justice Institute of British Columbia and with the Compassionate Listening Project.
Prior to co-founding WILLOW, Reena created and led Peace it Together, which brought Palestinian, Israeli and Canadian youth together for dialogue, filmmaking and community engagement. She has also taught conflict resolution for four years at Langara College as part of their Peace and Conflict Studies program.
