Carina Nilsson

Carina Nilsson is researching the political power of Byzantine empresses. She hopes to incorporate their imperial authority back into the larger historical narrative of the Byzantine Empire.

Carina received her BA in history and humanities, and a B.F.A. in Visual Arts at SFU. This summer, she plans to defend her master's thesis, also at SFU. Her next goal is to move on to her PhD and eventually research, teach, and support her family as a legitimate Byzantinist.
