Judy Lam Maxwell

Judy Lam Maxwell, MA, specializes in the history of Chinatowns and Chinese transnational migration.  A former director and chief researcher of the Chinese Canadian Military Museum (2002–11), she has also taught at Kwantlen Polytechnic University.

She is a member of the Vancouver Chinatown Revitalization Committee, the Chinatown Society Heritage Buildings Association, and the National Historic Sites Committee. She serves on the board of Organization of Chinese Americans-Asian Pacific American Advocates (Greater Seattle chapter) and on the board of the British Columbia Historical Federation. She has been named chair of the University Women’s Club programs committee.

Judy Lam Maxwell has given historical lectures worldwide. Her essays have been published in BC History, The Chinese American Forum, The Journal of Australian Canadian Studies, STAND TO! Journal of the Western Front Association, and Chefoo magazine.
