Barbara Tomlin

Barbara Tomlin, MA, ELS, has worked as an editor, copy editor, and proofreader for more than 30 years. In the past, she has served as a series editor for a textbook publisher and as a managing editor for the British Columbia Medical Journal.

Today, she writes, edits, copy edits, and proofreads a range of print and electronic material for a variety of clients, including book and magazine publishers, professional associations, non-profit societies, and government.

Barbara has been a course developer and instructor for SFU’s Writing and Communications Program for more than 20 years and serves on the program’s Editing Certificate Advisory Committee. She has also chaired the Editors’ Association of Canada Certification Steering Committee and is a founding partner of West Coast Editorial Associates.
