Roberta Staley

Roberta Staley is completing her Master’s degree in graduate liberal studies at SFU. She is an award-winning, independent magazine writer, and editor of the Canadian Chemical News, a national publication presenting the latest on innovation and research in the chemical sciences sector. Specializing in health and science stories, Staley also reports from such conflict and post-conflict zones as Colombia, Haiti, Cambodia, South Africa and, most recently, Afghanistan, where she shot the documentary Mightier Than the Sword. She is also working on the multimedia presentation Bitter Sweet, about the effect of Coke and Pepsi on the oral health of Aboriginal children in British Columbia as well as children in the developing world. Staley teaches magazine writing at Douglas College in New Westminster.
