7th Floor Media has partnered with The Canadian Encyclopedia to create Vancouver in Time, a mobile device application that tells the colourful stories behind Vancouver attractions.

Using location sensing, the application will display photographs of familiar locations from the past and present. Anecdotes reveal how the sites have contributed to Vancouver’s character and development.

After the application launches this summer, 7th Floor Media and the Canadian Encyclopedia hope to expand the application to include other Canadian cities.

The federal department of Canadian Studies is contributing to the project.
