On March 18, 2010, over one hundred lifelong learners attended our special joint launch event, celebrating the Ministry of Healthy Living and Sport's new older adult website - www.SeniorsBC.ca - and the premiere of the Seniors Program's 6th Outreach Project DVD, entitled, A Place for Everyone: Age-friendly Communities.

Guest speakers included Continuing Studies Dean Tom Nesbit, SFU President Michael Stevenson, Healthy Living and Sport Minister, Ida Chong, and ActNow Ambassador Peter McNab.

The 40-minute Outreach DVD explores how we can make our communities more accessible and inclusive for older adults, and how seniors can be more involved in promoting age-friendly communities across Canada. The DVD is moderated by CBC Radio host Mark Forsythe, who hosts his own day-time radio show called BC Almanac. Featured panelists include architect and planner Lewis Villegas, Gerontologist Dr. Elaine Gallagher, and the City Program Director, Gordon Price.
