Seniors Program Outreach Project
We established the SFU Seniors Outreach Project to raise awareness and promote discussion among seniors about the many issues affecting them.
The project consists of a series of expert-roundtable DVDs that seniors can watch online or at one of our many partner organizations across Canada. So far, six DVDs have been produced:
- Perceptions of God and Heaven
- Multiculturalism and the Canadian Identity
- Grandparenting in the 21st Century
- Democracy: The Intent and the Reality
- Seniors Rights and the Challenge of Elder Abuse
- A Place for Everyone: Age-friendly Communities
The videos are designed to facilitate dialogue among older adults, promoting awareness and greater understanding about topics of interest to seniors. After the presentation is complete, we encourage seniors to complete an evaluation form.
