Saturday Forum | Exploring the Continuum Between Evolution and Creationism
November 06, 2010
Sponsored by the SFU Seniors Program and SFU Seniors Lifelong Learner's Society
Acceptance of evolution and the ability to maintain a faith-based perspective are often presented as being contradictory. Can the two co-exist? This seminar will challenge the view that evolution and creationism are two irreconcilable worlds and discuss the continuum of perspectives on creation and evolution. Although some people automatically reject the theory of evolution based on theological concerns, evidence will be presented to show that there is no reason that religious belief need necessarily be a barrier to holding an evolutionary viewpoint.
