Diploma in Applied Project Management

PMP classroom

Project management is crucial to organizational success

Successful projects have a common denominator: strong management. Project managers make sure their teams accomplish goals effectively, on time, and on budget. They also manage quality, facilitate communication, and reduce risks.

Learn to manage a project from start to finish

SFU’s Diploma in Applied Project Management will teach you how to get things done effectively and efficiently. It covers the entire project life cycle and focuses on practical application—meaning everything you learn will be relevant to today’s business environment.

Our project management training goes above and beyond similar programs because of its integration of technical tools with leadership skills. In addition to discussing real-life case studies, you’ll learn how to create and lead successful teams, establish a project management office, assess technology options, and understand the responsibilities associated with project close-out.

Earn or maintain your PMP® certification

SFU is a Project Management Institute (PMI®) Registered Education Provider (REP). Our diploma will help you meet your training requirements for the prestigious Project Management Professional (PMP®) designation. If you already hold the designation, you can apply many of the courses in our project management program to the professional development units you need to maintain your PMP® certification.

Study part-time at SFU Surrey

Our project management program is part-time, so you can continue working while you study. Classes meet every few weeks on Friday and Saturday during the day at SFU Surrey. You’ll complete your diploma and make progress toward your PMP® designation in less than five months.
