Schedule

SFU Vancouver campus

Flexibility is a key component of SFU's Certificate in Business Communication and Professional Writing. It's part-time, and you may start in any semester with any of our courses, which start throughout the year—often several times per year.

Our Vancouver-based courses take place in the evenings or on weekends, and most are spread out over several weeks.

If a downtown Vancouver course doesn't fit your schedule, you're also welcome to take our intensive business communication courses in Surrey, or our online and distance (print-based) education courses.

Take individual writing and communications courses

If you're not ready to commit to a certificate, you’re welcome to start with individual business communication and professional writing courses without applying to the program.

If you decide to take the certificate later, any courses you successfully complete before you apply will count toward your certificate, provided they are part of the certificate curriculum in the year for which you apply.

In the classroom

SFU Continuing Studies' learning environment is interactive. You'll learn through traditional instruction, reading, case studies, real-world simulations, discussions, collaborative and individual assignments, and exams. You’ll also benefit from the expertise and experience of both your classmates and your instructors.
