Non-Credit Certificate in the Liberal Arts (55+)

Seniors Program class

Keep your mind active

It’s never too late for a university education. Now is the time to study the subject that has always fascinated you—or even investigate something new, like music, fashion, or politics. There are dozens of benefits of learning as you get older: you’ll improve your memory, health, mood, and more.

Take your education to the next level with dozens of fascinating courses

As part of our Liberal Arts Program, we offer dozens of intellectually challenging daytime courses each year to adults 55+. You can take courses for the joy of it, or work toward the goal of a non-credit liberal arts certificate.

Study at your own pace

Flexibility and variety are two key characteristics of our liberal arts certificate. You may take whatever courses you wish, at whatever pace you wish. Most courses meet once a week for six weeks at SFU's Vancouver campus, but you can also take courses at our Surrey City Centre Library location on Saturdays.

Join SFU's Alumni Association

As a graduate of the liberal arts certificate program, you'll be eligible for certain alumni benefits and privileges, including access to university services such as the library and an SFU email account. For more information about these benefits, contact Alumni Relations at 778-782-4723.
