Part-time, in classSocial Innovation Certificate
|Format||Part-time in Vancouver|
Modules are three days long and run from Thursday to Saturday, usually once a month.
|Duration||We offer this program every year. It's eight months long and runs September to April. You may also register for most modules individually when space is available.|
|Courses||There are five required modules and a practicum/coaching/integration module.|
|Learning materials||See the first module for required textbooks. The cost of textbooks is not included in your tuition.|
|Tuition||Tuition is based on individual course fees: $980 for each of the first 5 modules and $1,500 for the practicum/coaching/integration module.|
|Application fee||$75 (non-refundable)|
We accept qualified students on a first-come, first-served basis, and will continue to accept applications if space permits. We only hold a select number of seats for certificate students. Since the program can fill quickly, we recommend applying and registering for your courses early.
Modules feature a wide variety of instructional techniques, including group exercises, case studies, discussions and field trips. You’ll work through the program with a cohort—a group of fellow change agents—with whom you can share experience, ideas and expertise.
Coursework: What to expect
This certificate is university-level. You’ll complete advance readings and in-class exercises for each of the modules. You’ll also complete practical assignments for each module, as well as a paper and a poster presentation for your practicum.
To receive the Social Innovation Certificate, you must successfully complete all modules and your practicum project within a three-year period.
Take individual social innovation modules
If you’re not ready to take the Social Innovation Certificate, you may still register for most modules individually if space is available. If you would like to be notified when seats become available, please join our email list.
