Faculty Celebration and Convocation Ceremony

On October 22, the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences' hosted their Faculty Celebration. It was followed by the live broadcast of their virtual Convocation ceremony.

Faculty Celebrations

We’re very excited for all of our FASS students who have graduated! On October 22, graduating students, family and loved ones were invited to virtually attend the official FASS Virtual Celebration.

Graduating students had a chance to get together online to celebrate their momentous achievements with their classmates and families no matter where they were in the world. The event was hosted by FASS’s new undergraduate associate dean, Lara Campbell, and graduating student speaker, Alicia Fahrner.

Virtual Convocation Ceremony

Gather with your family, friends and members of the university community to celebrate your accomplishments at your virtual convocation ceremony. Fall 2020 Virtual Convocation will be comprised of four virtual ceremonies hosted by Chancellor Tamara Vrooman and President Joy Johnson. Each ceremony will include:

  • Messages of inspiration and encouragement from representatives of the graduating class;
  • SFU’s distinguished honorary degree recipients and the President of the Alumni Association; and
  • Individual graduate recognition and messages

You’ll be invited to celebrate your accomplishments at an in-person ceremony at a later date.
