Organizations have been relying upon SFU’s Co-op Program for over 30 years to provide the brightest minds and energy to their work places.
As one of the largest and most comprehensive programs in Canada, SFU Co-op has been a continually relied upon source of talent and skill for many.
Co-operative Education formally integrates a student's academic studies with related, paid work experience. Students alternate periods of learning in appropriate fields of business, industry, government, social services and the professions with their formal education.
Over 2500 students each year, across all SFU Faculties are placed locally, nationally and internationally.
Organizations use Co-op for many of the following reasons:
- Short term, full time employment (4 or 8 months)
- Access to undergraduate and graduate students
- No cost job posting & interview scheduling
- Academic-related learning opportunities and experience
- Students available in all faculties/areas of study
- Permanent strategic recruitment assistance (Bridging opportunities)
- Direct and strategic link with University student talent
- Supported work place learning (Learning Objectives, Site Visits)
