Students WORKING in Summer 2013: Plan for a site visit in June/July and register for your Presentation Session taking place end of Augustl / beginning of September.

BOL I is offered in various sessions throughout each semester. The two main topics are: Skills Transfer and Effective Communication. You will complete BOL I after you submit your general application to co-op and receive a welcome email from Communication Co-op program. To register for BOL I, please go to Symplicity . Login with your SFU email (including @sfu.ca) and click on the Events Calendar.

Co-op Workshop Series
Workshops on resume and cover letter writing and developing your interview skills. In order to be released to seek for summer Co-op jobs in spring semester, these workshops must be completed prior to your one-on-one meeting with a Coordinator. Please register on Symplicity

New Student Session for Spring 2014 Co-op
This session will orient you to the Communication Co-op program, provide information, answer your questions and show you some of the great opportunities available. You must complete this session prior to your first one-on-one session.
**Students must bring their completed application package to the session. Please register on Symplicity.

Starting Aug

New Student One-on-One Meeting with a Coordinator
Once you have completed BOL 1, attended the resume and cover letter workshops and attended the new student session, register on Symplicity for your private 45 minute session. You can review CMNS - SP14 - Communication Guru test job for sample positions, or find one on your own. Research the organization to tailor your cover letter. Bring in the job description, along with your resume and cover letter for a coordinator to review and provide feedback. All students new to Communication Co-op are required to complete this step by end of Aug 2013 in order to be released to seek jobs for Spring 2014.

BOL II is offered in various sessions throughout each semester; the main topics are: Personal Management and Workplace 101. You may register for BOL II anytime after you have successfully completed BOL I. Students are required to complete BOL II prior to the start of their first Co-op work term. Register on Symplicity.
