Thank you for your interest in the SFU Computing Science Surrey Co-operative Education (Co-op) Program. You can apply as early as first year - the sooner the better.
Be sure to review our Co-op Program Requirements then follow the steps below to apply.
Plan Ahead
We recommend you apply no later than 2 semesters prior to your first intended work term. For example, if you would like to complete your first work term during the summer semester, you would apply to our program no later than the fall semester. The following table may assist with your planning:

1. Apply to Co-op
You can apply at any time throughout the year to Computing Science Surrey Co-op, the earlier the better. You can do this by completing the online Co-operative Education Application form. Please be sure to review our Requirements for things to consider before you apply. We will respond to your application within 10 business days notifying you of your approval to the program as well as your next steps.
2. Meet your Co-op Coordinator
Once you have been approved to Co-op, meet with your co-op coordinator to ensure your preparedness for your first work search.

3. Complete the Co-op Prerequisites
Following your acceptance into co-op, and before you are released to seek for jobs, you will be required to complete the prerequisites list on our New Students page.
The Co-op Application fee is $125. Click here for details on the Refund Policy.
The application fee will be posted to your SFU Account upon processing of your Co-operative Education Application Form. Please allow one week for the charge to be posted to your account. At your convenience, verify the charge and make a payment to your SFU Account. Please note that it is not imperative that you pay the application fee immediately, you may pay the application fee with your tuition fees.
The basic Co-op work term fee for a four-month Co-op work term is $706.30, and includes workshops, personal consultations, ongoing support and resources. This fee is payable only when you have accepted a job and are officially registered in a work term.
