Congratulations on being accepted into Computing Science Surrey Co-op. You will now need to complete the following pre-requisites before you are released to start applying to co-op jobs:

1. Meet your co-op coordinator

Once you have been approved to Co-op, meet with your co-op coordinator to ensure your preparedness for your first work search.

  Stephanie DeRapp (Last names A-L)  P: 778.782.8539 E: stephanie_derapp@sfu.ca

  Ryan McDonald (Last names M-Z)  P: 778.782.9106 E: rmcdonald@sfu.ca

2. Complete Bridging Online 1

Bridging Online 1 (BOL 1) is a two-week online course preparing you to identify and transfer your skills to the workplace. This self-paced course is offered regularly throughout the term and can be completed on your own time. You can register for the BOL 1 under the “Events” tab on Symplicity.

3. Attend the three required SFU Co-op workshops

Participate in the Resume, Cover Letter and Interview workshops – either separately or by attending the "All In One". You can register for the workshops under the “Events” tab on Symplicity.

4. Get your documents reviewed

When you've completed BOL 1 and the workshops and have updated your cover letter and resume, make an appointment with the advisor to review your documents.

You may have one or more advising sessions in order for your documents to be ready for job applications. Pending their approval, you'll be able to apply to seek for a co-op position for the following semester.
