International Co-op provides students with a unique opportunity to travel the world, while working in their specified field of study. Students who work abroad expand their career prospects by gaining international experiences in the workplace and beyond. In the past 13 years, SFU students have worked in over 1000 placements around the globe.

When searching the global marketplace, intercultural and international work experiences give flare and personality to your résumé.

Having such an experience as an undergraduate is impressive to employers and makes your résumé more competitive after graduation. By taking on an International Co-op placement, you will have the chance to learn a foreign language or improve skills you already possess. More importantly International Co-op serves as professional and personal growth experience by forcing you to adjust and adapt to a new cultural environment. You will come back as a global citizen, with a fresh perspective of the world and plenty of stories to share. International Co-op is invaluable venture in regards to your personal development as well as future employment.
