About Co-operative
Education at SFU
Co-operative Education formally
integrates a student's academic studies with related,
paid work experience. Students alternate periods of
experience in appropriate fields of business, industry,
government, social services and the professions with
their education.
Since 1975, SFU's Co-op Program has grown to become
one of the largest most dynamic and diversified Co-op
programs in Canada.
More than 2,000 students participate in the program
each year.
Many employers are using the Co-op program as part of
a long term recruiting strategy, while others simply
enjoy hiring Co-op students because of the fresh ideas
and energy they bring to organizations and project teams.
Students are available for four or eight-month work
terms in January, May andSeptember. There is little
paper work and no fee for posting or hiring through
SFU Co-op.
