Robert Broad (BA, SFU) is a Vancouver-based filmmaker and video producer with well over a decade of experience. After studying communication, film, music and philosophy at Simon Fraser University, he moved to New York City in the late nineties to help launch one of the first broadcast entertainment companies to bring the documentary video revolution to the web. After relocating to Vancouver, Robert rejoined his alma mater where he currently produces educational media content and coordinates media production services at the SFU Vancouver campus. Recent projects include the multiple award-winning broadcast documentary films From the Heart and The Fraser River Journey, as well as numerous high-profile campaigns for the SFU community and for clients such as TED, BC Hydro Aboriginal Relations, the Burnaby Intercultural Planning Table, and the Bill Reid Gallery of Northwest Coast Art. Robert specializes in multi-platform content development and delivery, project planning and management, and all aspects of high-level educational media production (producing, directing, writing, interviewing, cinematography, editing, distribution, and marketing).
