Application Procedure

The application procedure for the MA in Applied Legal Studies Program is a two-step process:

Step 1: Contact the Society of Notaries Public of British Columbia

Potential applicants, other than those who are already practicing as Notaries in British Columbia, must contact the Society of Notaries Public of British Columbia before submitting an application to ensure they are likely to be eligible for admission to practice in the province.

The yearly application intake set by the Society of Notaries Public of British Columbia falls between May 1 and January 2.

Step 2: Apply for admission to SFU

Once approved by the Society, the following must be submitted to the SFU Graduate and Postdoctoral Studies office by May 1 each year, for admission to the program in the Fall of that year:

Applicants are responsible for providing full documentation. Incomplete applications will not be evaluated.
