The basic requirements for Teaching Assistant and Distance Education Tutor-Marker placements are English language fluency, knowledge of subject matter related to the course, and some specific course designation training sessions. International students whose first language is not English will have to wait one full year before applying for Teaching Assistant and Tutor-Marker positions. Students interested in Teaching Assistant or Tutor-Marker positions should inquire about training sessions.
Positions are usually posted three to five months before the semester of employment. Incoming graduate students have the highest priority for a Teaching Assistant or Tutor-Marker position. Positions are only open to students within a Criminology Graduate Program.
Students must complete and submit the appropriate TA or TM application forms by the posted deadline to be considered for a position. Please submit one form per course, “any” is not an acceptable course number. Be sure to complete the whole application, including a signature on the back of the application.
All positions are subject to enrollment and funding.
