Graduate Program: MA in Applied Legal Studies Program
The Master of Arts in Applied Legal Studies program provides the education necessary to produce professional Notaries Public for the Province of British Columbia. The degree is designed to ensure that candidates for membership in the Society of Notaries Public of British Columbia are educated to a high standard, and are integrated with the additonal professional training and education necessary to complete the requirements for qualification as a Notary Public. Completion of the degree is a prerequisite for membership in the Society of Notaries Public.
This graduate program is for students intending to practice as Notaries Public in British Columbia. The degree is granted on the successful completion of a 15 month course of study, and prepares students for admission to notarial practice.
The number of students entering notarial practice in British Columbia is ultimately governed by the Society of Notaries Public of British Columbia. Conferral of this degree is no guarantee of a position in either the necessary professional training programs provided by the Society or in notarial practice.
