Welcome to the Certificate Program
for CED Professionals!
The program is comprised of eight, intensive two-day courses for community leaders to explore, with peers, the models and methods for building sustainable, local and fair economies.
Community Economic Development is a multidisciplinary approach that engages the community to:
- stabilize local economies
- create long-term employment
- contribute to the health of the natural environment
- build on local resources and capacities
- increase community control and ownership
For the 2009-2010 school year, the program is offered in-person in Victoria and Vancouver and via video-conference in Dawson Creek, Haida Gwaii, Houston, Williams Lake and Vanderhoof.
