Participants
The program is for anyone who wants to expand their range of tools and models to successfully integrate social, environmental and economic concerns into community planning and development. Those best suited to the program are open to expand their horizons and accept the challenge of learning across disciplines and sectors.

The cohort typically includes
• Loan and grant fund managers
• Employees of Aboriginal bands and development corporations
• Social entrepreneurs and neighbourhood organizers
• Elected officials
• Local, provincial, and federal government administrators and project managers
• Community developers, economic developers and social planners
• Employees of business improvement or development associations
• Immigrant settlement workers and employment counselors
• Staff of more-than-profit organizations
• Current and future leaders committed to creating positive change

Continuing Education Credits
Students are encouraged to contact their professional association to inquire about continuing education credits.
The following professional associations provide formal recognition credits for the SFU Certificate Program for Community Economic Development

In addition, all graduates receive a one-year fully paid membership to the Canadian Community Economic Development Network
