Africa is Changing...And So is CIDA Programming in Africa

A presentation and discussion with Marc-André Fredette, Director for Results and Risk Management and former Country Director for Ethiopia and Head of Development Co-operation for the Horn of Africa (2003 to 2007) and Regional Director for Atlantic West Africa (1997 to 2003). Mr. Fredette was most recently Country Director for Ethiopia and Head of Development Co-operation for the Horn of Africa, based in Addis Ababa from 2003 to 2007. Just previously, he was Regional Director for Atlantic West Africa, from 1997 to 2003. He joined CIDA 33 years ago, and his time has been split evenly between policy/analysis and operations. He has worked in 5 Branches at CIDA (Policy, Multilateral, Africa, Performance and Knowledge Management Branch, and now Strategic Policy and Performance Branch). Mr. Fredette has lived and travelled extensively overseas for development work, especially in Africa and has participated in over 200 missions and travel in some 70 countries.
