When you use our online registration system, we will ask you to create a simple profile where you will set your login and a password. Once you have an account, you can register for the seminar.

Just-in-Time Seminars

The "Just-in-Time" International Teaching Assistant Seminar is a free 3-session course focused on Academic Culture & Communication and Essential Skills for Teaching Assistants. The seminar is designed to offer timely orientation and support to graduate teaching assistants who are new to the North American academia, and whose first language is not English.

Refundable Deposit
The "Just-in-Time" seminar is free to all SFU graduate students. A refundable $50 deposit is required to hold your space and you must attend the seminar in its entirety (all three Saturdays) to get your deposit refunded.

10-Week Intensive International Teaching Assistants Seminar

The seminar is free and open to all new and current SFU grad students in all disciplines. Priority will be given to those expected to have teaching assignments in their first or second term.

Refundable Deposit
We do require a $100 refundable deposit. You have to attend seven out of ten sessions in order to receive your certificate of completion and to get your deposit refunded. We issue refunds in the original method of payment and to the original payee only.

Cancellations and Transfers

If you want to cancel your registration, please send your written request to csreg@sfu.ca at least seven business days before the seminar start date. Cancellation refunds are subject to a 20 percent administrative charge of $20. The same applies to a request to transfer. If you submit a cancellation or transfer request less than seven business days before the course start date, you will not receive a refund. It is also too late to request to transfer within the seven-day period.
