Welcome to the Linking Science and Local Knowledge at Simon Fraser University

The main objective of the Linking Science and Local Knowledge: Working Group of the national Ocean Management Research Network (OMRN) from SSHRC/DFO Joint Initatives is to link scientific knowledge with local knowledge for improved, sustainable oceans and coastal management, and to assist Fisheries and Oceans Canada with an ecosystem approach to ocean resource management.

Through regional and community workshops, public forums, newsletters and reports, the Linking Science and Local Knowledge node addresses critical issues in ocean management.
