Persons with significant academic, literary, or artistic qualifications whose work may benefit from a residency at the DLC may apply for this non-stipendiary status. The position provides University affiliation, use of the University Library, office space, and membership in facilities. Residents are required to participate in Centre activities by attending lectures, workshops, and colloquia, and presenting and publishing original research. Guy Beauregard

National Taiwan University

Guy Beauregard is a Professor at National Taiwan University and an Associate Member of SFU’s Institute for Transpacific Cultural Research. After receiving his PhD from the University of Alberta, he has been affiliated with UC Berkeley, UBC, National Tsing Hua University, the University of Toronto, and Academia Sinica. His articles have appeared or are forthcoming in Amerasia JournalCanadian LiteratureConcentricInter-Asia Cultural StudiesInternational Journal of Canadian StudiesStudies in Canadian LiteratureTamkang Review, and West Coast Line. He is also the co-editor (with Cathy J. Schlund-Vials and Hsiu-chuan Lee) of The Subject(s) of Human Rights: Crises, Violations, and Asian/American Critique scheduled to be published by Temple University Press in December 2019.

His research project at SFU is entitled “Transpacific Studies: Investigating Theoretical Debates and Institutional Formations.” As part of this project, he is thinking and writing about Indigenous articulations in the Pacific, the transpacific dimensions of remembering White Terror, and transitional justice initiatives in Taiwan.

Isaac Yue (余文章)

University of Hong Kong

Yue is an Associate Professor of Translation and Chinese Studies at the University of Hong Kong and also an editorial board member of the Journal of Oriental Studies (東方文化) and the Journal of Chinese Literary Studies (文學論衡). His proposed research project at SFU David Lam Centre will be "Asian North American Literature and Food".
