Entrance Scholarships

Simon Fraser University offers entrance scholarships to the best incoming graduate students for full-time graduate study or research. All awards are contingent upon availability of funds.

Departments nominate the strongest candidates for these entrance scholarships and forward their nomination form with a copy of the applicant's admission file to the Dean of Graduate Studies by February 15 of each year.

Bert Henry Memorial Graduate Scholarship
The recipient is an outstanding student who has obtained a master's degree and is entering any PhD program at SFU. The recipient must show high academic performance and potential for significant contribution to the chosen field of study. Tenure is for one year and may commence in any term. Students already enrolled in the intended program are not eligible. See terms of reference.

CD Nelson Memorial Graduate Scholarships
Recipients are outstanding scholars entering any graduate program at SFU. Tenure is for up to three years and may commence in any term. Students already enrolled in the intended program are not eligible. See terms of reference.

SFU Alumni Association Graduate Entrance Scholarship
Recipient is outstanding scholar entering any master's or doctoral program at SFU. Students already enrolled in the intended program are not eligible. See terms of reference.

Simons Foundation Doctoral Entrance Fellowship
The recipient is an outstanding female scholar entering any PhD program at SFU. The recipient must show high academic performance and potential for significant contribution to the chosen field. Students already enrolled in the intended program are not eligible. See terms of reference.

Kruger Products Bicultural Graduate Entrance Fellowship
The recipient is an outstanding scholar entering any master's or doctoral program at SFU. The student must have completed a previous degree at a university in the Province of Quebec. See terms of reference.

Graduate Aboriginal Entrance Scholarship
The recipient is an outstanding scholar with aboriginal ancestry entering a thesis based master's or doctoral program at SFU. See terms of reference.
