Mitacs: Globalink

In collaboration with Mitacs, SFU is pleased to offer the Mitacs Globalink Graduate Fellowships for Globalink alumni students.

  1. Masters Level Students (in research-based programs only):
    1. $18,000 per year for 1–2 years (term is program dependent) comprising any combination of scholarships, research,  and/or teaching assistantships
    2. International tuition fee subsidy
  2. Doctoral Level Students (in research-based programs only)
    1. $18,000 per year for 2 years comprising scholarships, research assistantships,  and/or teaching assistantships, or any combination thereof
    2. International tuition fee subsidy
A limited number of awards are available each year to entering international graduate students who have been past participants in the Mitacs Globalink summer research program. 

Application Procedure
Students apply directly to their prospective graduate program. Graduate programs will rank all qualifying applicants and send the students' names and ranking to the office of the Dean of Graduate Studies. 

Complete nomination packages will include:
  1. Nomination letter from graduate program chair, including description of financial commitment from graduate program, explanation of why student is a good fit for the graduate program, and an indication of the nominee's ranking.
  2. Copies of transcripts from the nominee's admission application
  3. Copies of letters of refrence from the nominee's admission application
  4. Nominee's research proposal
The deadline for nominations is normally January 31 of each year.
