Ted & Shirley Cohn Graduate Scholarship in Political Science

Terms of Reference

  1. The purpose of this scholarship is to recognize and provide financial support to a graduate student studying international relations, preferably with an interest in international political economy, in the Department of Political Science.
  2. One or more scholarships, valued at $1,450 or more, will be granted annually to a student who fulfills the following criteria:
    1.  has demonstrated academic excellence at the graduate level or in the most recent degree program completed;
    2. is registered in a graduate degree program at Simon Fraser University through the Department of Political Science; and
    3. is studying international relations.
  3. This award may be held in conjunction with other awards made by Simon Fraser University or other agencies where permitted by those agencies.
  4. Applications will be made via the online Grad Awards, Application and Adjudication System (GA3). Required supporting documents include:
    1. copies of post-secondary transcripts;
    2. a current curriculum vitae;
    3. one letter of reference from a faculty member familiar with the applicant's work; and
    4. a one-page description of the applicant's research focus.
  5. The scholarship will be granted by the Dean of Graduate Studies on behalf of the Senate Graduate Awards Adjudication Committee upon the noination of the Graduate Program Chair, Department of Political Science
