EMBA Scholarship for Aboriginal Leaders

Terms of Reference

  1. The purpose of the EMBA Scholarship for Aboriginal Leaders is to recognize and reward an outstanding Aboriginal student in the Executive MBA in Aboriginal Business and Leadership Cohort. One scholarship, valued at approximately $10,000 will be awarded over two terms (Fall & Spring). The scholarship is based on academic merit and is to be used towards the cost of tuition. 
  2. This award may be held in conjunction with other awards made by Simon Fraser University or other agencies where permitted by those agencies.
  3. The criteria for this scholarship:
    1. demonstrated academic excellence at the undergraduate level and, if applicable, at the graduate level
    2. registration at Simon Fraser University in the Executive MBA in Aboriginal Business and Leadership Program or the GDBA program in preparation for the Aboriginal Business and Leadership program
  4. Students must be NOMINATED for the scholarship by the Associate Dean, Graduate Programs, Beedie School of Business. Nomination is made on the Application for a Private Graduate Scholarship form and must be accompanied by:
    1. a current, unofficial SFU transcript (if applicable) and a copy of the transcript of the most recent degree program completed
    2. a curriculum vitae summarizing scholastic achievements and work relevant to the aims of this scholarship
    3. a nomination letter describing the merits of the nominee
  5. The award will be made by the Dean of Graduate Studies on behalf of the Senate Graduate Awards Adjudication Committee, upon the nomination of the Associate Dean, Graduate Programs, Beedie School of Business.
