Frank A. Linville Graduate Scholarship

Terms of Reference

  1. The purpose of this award is to provide financial support for a student pursuing a graduate degree program whose research is on sensory science. 
  2. The award value is approximately $6,000 and is tenable in the Fall term.
  3. The criteria for this award are
    1. demonstrated academic excellence at the undergraduate, and if applicable, at the graduate level
    2. registration at Simon Fraser University in a graduate program conducting research on sensory science
    3. promise of outstanding achievement at the graduate level with particular emphasis on intellectual ability, originality and ability in research
  4. Application is made on the Application for a Private Graduate Scholarship form and must be accompanied by:
    1. copies of all post secondary transcripts
    2. one letter of reference from a faculty member familiar with the applicant's work
  5. The completed application and supporting documents must be received by the department of enrollment by May 30. Departmental nominations must be received by SFU Graduate Studies by June 30. 
  6. The award will be made by the Dean of Graduate Studies on behalf of the Senate Graduate Awards Adjudication Committee.
