WXN Entrepreneurship Award for Aboriginal Leaders

Terms of Reference

  1. The purpose of this award is to offer financial assistance to and reward a deserving female student enrolled in the GDBA or EMBA Aboriginal Business and Leadership Program. 
  2. The award is normally valued at a minimum of $5,000 and will be offered annually to a female graduate student who fulfills the following criteria:
    1. demonstrated interest or experience in entrepreneurship
    2. is in good academic standing in the most recent degree program completed or in the EMBA in Aboriginal Business and Leadership Program
    3. enrollment in the GDBA or EMBA in Aboriginal Business and Leadership Program in the Beedie School of Business
  3. Students must be nominated for the award by the Program Director, Executive MBA in Aboriginal Business and Leadership. Students may apply on the online Grad Awards, Application and Adjudication System (GA3) and must be accompanied by:
    1. a current, unofficial SFU transcript and/ or a copy of the transcript of the most recent degree program completed or partially completed
    2. a personal statement of goals related to the aims of the EMBA in Aboriginal Business Leadership Program
    3. a current curriculum vitae
    4. one letter of reference from a faculty member familiar with the applicant's work (if the applicant is a continuing student)
  4. The completed application and all supporting documents can be submitted to the Program Director, Executive MBA in Aboriginal Business and Leadership.
  5. The award will be made by the Dean of Graduate Studies, on behalf of the Graduate Awards Adjudication Committee, upon the nomination of the Program Director of the Executive MBA in Aboriginal Business and Leadership.
