Margaret Lowe Benston Memorial Graduate Bursary in Gender, Sexuality and Women's Studies

Terms of Reference

  1. The purpose of this award is to provide financial support for students in the MA and PhD programs in the Department of Gender, Sexuality, and Women's Studies.
  2. The Margaret Lowe Benston Memorial Graduate Bursary in Women's Studies is a one-term award based on the net value of earned income from the endowment.
  3. The criteria for this award are:
    1. registration at Simon Fraser University in a graduate program in Gender, Sexuality, and Women's Studies
    2. satisfactory academic performance in the undergraduate and, if applicable, at the graduate level
    3. demonstrated financial need
  4. This award may be held in conjunction with other awards made by Simon Fraser University or other agencies where permitted by those agencies.
  5. Application must be made on the online Grad Awards, Application and Adjudication System (GA3) and must be accompanied by:
    1. a nomination letter
    2. copies of all post-secondary transcripts
    3. copies of documents supporting demonstrated financial need.
  6. The award will be made by the Dean of Graduate Studies, on behalf of the Senate Graduate Awards Adjudication Committee.
