Nick Kravariotis Memorial Graduate Scholarship in Hellenic Studies

Terms of Reference

  1. The purpose of this scholarship is to provide financial support for students enrolled in the Department of Hellenic Studies Graduate Program.
  2. The Nick Kravariotis Memorial Graduate Scholarship in Hellenic Studies is an annual scholarship valued at a portion of the interest earned on the Endowment. The scholarship is normally tenable in the Fall term.
  3. The criteria for this award are:
    1. demonstrated academic excellence at the graduate level
    2. full-time registration in either the Master’s or Doctoral program in Hellenic Studies in the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences
  4. This award may be held in conjunction with other awards made by Simon Fraser University or other agencies where permitted by those agencies.
  5. Students must be nominated by the Chair of Hellenic Studies in the Department of History. Nominations are made on the online Grad Awards, Application and Adjudication System (GA3) and must be accompanied by:
    1. a current, unofficial SFU transcript and a copy of the transcript of the most recent degree program completed
    2. a nomination letter from the Chair of Hellenic Studies, describing the merits of the nominee
  6. The award will be made by the Dean of Graduate Studies on behalf of the Senate Graduate Awards Adjudication Committee, upon the recommendation of the Chair of Hellenic Studies in the Department of History.
