Terms of Reference

1. The purpose of this award is to provide financial support for a graduate student at Simon Fraser University who is pursuing a graduate degree in the Beedie School of Business.
2. Its value is subject to the income earned from its endowment fund, and will increase as the endowment grows.
   
3. To be considered eligible, candidates should demonstrate their involvement in entrepreneurial endeavours by providing their CV and cover letter describing their interest and involvement in entrepreneurial pursuits, and including a letter of reference from a mentor or supervisor of the candidate’s work.
4. The criteria for this award are:
   1. full-time registration in a graduate program in the Beedie School of Business
      
   2. demonstrated entrepreneurial activities as outlined in point 3 above
   3. demonstrated academic excellence at the undergraduate and the graduate level if applicable
5. This award may be held in conjunction with other awards made by Simon Fraser University or other agencies where permitted by those agencies.
6. Students must be nominated for this award by the Chair, Beedie School of Business Graduate Committee. The nomination must be made on the Application for a Private Graduate Scholarship form and must be accompanied by:
   1. a nomination letter describing the academic merits and potential of the nominee
   2. copies of all post secondary transcripts
   3. supporting documents as outlined in Point 3 above
7. The final selection of a candidate for the award will be made by the Dean of Graduate Studies on behalf of the Senate Graduate Awards Adjudication Committee.
