VanCity Environmental Graduate Scholarship

Terms of Reference

  1. The purpose of this award is to provide financial support for a student enrolled in the Resource and Environmental Management program who is researching environmental and resource management problems in British Columbia.
  2. The VanCity Environmental Graduate Scholarship is a two-term award equal to the net income from an endowment fund. When fully endowed, the award value will be tenable in the Fall and Spring terms. The current value is tenable in the Fall term only.
  3. The criteria for this award are:
    1. demonstrated academic excellence
    2. commitment to research on environmental problems in British Columbia
    3. registration at Simon Fraser University in a graduate program in Resource and Environmental Management
    4. preference will be given to BC residents and those with financial need
  4. This award may be held in conjunction with other awards made by Simon Fraser University or other agencies where permitted by those agencies.
  5. Application is made on the online Grad Awards, Application and Adjudication System (GA3) and must be accompanied by:
    1. copies of all post-secondary transcripts
    2. two letters of reference
    3. a concise outline of the proposed program of studies.
  6. The award will be made by the Dean of Graduate Studies, on behalf of the Senate Graduate Awards Adjudication Committee, and on the recommendation of the Director of the School of Resource and Environmental Management .
