Grace Woodsworth MacInnis Graduate Entrance Scholarship

Terms of Reference

This award was established in honour of Grace Woodsworth MacInnis in recognition of her outstanding contribution as a Canadian parliamentarian and a pioneer woman in Canadian politics.

  1. The purpose of this award is to provide support to a student entering the graduate program in Gender, Sexuality, and Women's Studies at Simon Fraser University.
  2. The Grace Woodsworth MacInnis Graduate Scholarship is valued at a portion of the earned income from the Endowment Fund.
  3. The criteria for this award are:
    1. demonstrated scholarly promise
    2. engagement on behalf of women on campus and/or the wider community
    3. demonstrated financial need
  4. This award may be held in conjunction with other awards made by Simon Fraser University or other agencies where permitted by those agencies.
  5. Application is made on the online Grad Awards, Application and Adjudication System (GA3) and must be accompanied by:
    1. copies of all postsecondary transcripts
    2. one letter of reference from a faculty member familiar with the applicant's work
    3. a concise statement of financial need
  6. The completed application and all supporting documents must be received by the department of enrolment.
  7. The award will be made by the Dean of Graduate Studies, on behalf of the Senate Graduate Awards Adjudication Committee.
