    SFU Library currently has a three-year site license for NVivo Software. NVivo is a research analysis tool for qualitative information, used for coding data, creating visual models, running queries, and sharing reports.

    The Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) is offering 60 Fellowships for North American and European pre- and post-doctoral researchers to conduct cooperative research in Japan. There are four recruitment periods, with deadlines in October 2013, April and July 2014, and January 2015.

    The Mitacs-Accelerate PhD Fellowships provides three years of funding for PhD students in all academic disciplines, valued at $30,000 per year. Deadline to apply in September 19, 2013. International students are welcome to apply.

    The Japan Society for the Promotion of Science (JSPS) is offering 240 Postdoctoral Fellowships for foreign researchers in Japan, in any research area in the Humanities or the Natural Sciences. There are currently two recruitment periods, with a deadline in September 2013 and May 2014.

    NSERC invites you to nominate an individual or a group for their annual Awards for Science Promotion. The individual recipient will receive an award of $10,000. The winning group will be awarded $25,000 to further science promotion activities. Nomination deadline is September 1, 2013.

    The National University of Singapore's Graduate School for Integrative Sciences & Engineering is offering scholarships for PhD students interested in cross-disciplinary research in science, engineering, computing, and related aspects of medicine. The stipend value is $3,200 per month, for up to 4 years. Application deadline is 15 November 2013.

  • External Awards: Sofja Kovalevskaja Award June 27, 2013
    The Sofja Kovalevskaja Award is providing up to eight grants, valued at 1.65 million EUR each.This international award is granted to young and exceptionally promising researchers to establish their own junior research groups at a research institution of their choice in Germany. If you are nearing the completion of your PhD, or you have completed your PhD within the last 6 years, you will want to apply for this award. Application deadline is July 31, 2013.

  • External Awards: Bluhm/Helfand Social Innovation Fellowship March 31, 2013
    The Bluhm/Helfand Social Innovation Fellowship invites applications for the Chicago Ideas Week in October of each year, which provides exposure and support for "young socially-conscious leaders who have developed sustainable ventures addressing social needs." BHSI Fellows receive a $10,000 financial contribution for their venture. Apply by June 6, 2013.

  • External Awards: SRK Consulting (Canada) Inc. 2013/14 Scholarship Program March 28, 2013
    SRK Canada is providing the SRK Consulting Scholarship Program in coordination with NSERC's Industrial Postgraduate Scholarship. The program is designed to assist graduate students in fields related to the mining industry. The value of the scholarship is $15,000 per year through NSERC plus an additional $6,000 per year from SRK Canada. Apply by June 30, 2013.

  • External Award: Grand Challenges Explorations Grant March 26, 2013
    Grand Challenges in Global Health is a family of grant programs focused on improving health in the developing world. Each grant is valued at $100,000, with the opportunity to receive a follow-up grant of up to $1 million. The deadline for proposals for Grand Challenges Explorations Round 11 is May 7, 2013.

  • External Award: Malaysia International Scholarship March 22, 2013
    The Malaysia International Scholarship (MIS) is an initiative by the Malaysian Government to attract top students to pursue post-graduate and post-doctoral studies in Malaysia. The Scholarship covers airfare, tuition, monthly allowance, health insurance, as well as other expenses. Application deadline is March 31, 2013.

  • External Awards: Malaysian Commonwealth Scholarship Fellowship Plan (CSFP) for Commonwealth Countries 2013-2014 February 25, 2013
    The Malaysian Government offers Commonwealth Scholarship and Fellowship Plan (CSFP) for the students of commonwealth countries to study at the postgraduate level in Malaysia. The scholarship is awarded for up to 12 to 24 months for a Master's degree, and up to 3 years for a PhD degree. The awards are only applicable for candidates pursuing full-time degree programme in Malaysia. Deadline for application is March 31, 2013.

  • Google Policy Fellowship February 20, 2013
    The Google Policy Fellowship program offers students interested in Internet and technology policy the opportunity to spend the summer working on these issues at public interest organizations in Africa, Europe, Latin America and North America. Students will work for 10 weeks over the summer of 2013. Fellows will receive a stipend of $7,500. Application deadline: March 15, 2013.
