Job Posting: SFU Bookstore

June 10, 2012
Print

The SFU Bookstore is looking for temporary part-time cashiers: See their full job description.

Assignments are for 3 months or less, Monday to Saturday.  Hours of work will range from 4 hours to 7 hours per day between the hours of 9:00 a.m. and 6:45 p.m. You must be available for three or more shifts per week. Priority is given to qualified SFU students who are registered in credit courses in the semester of employment.

The hourly salary is $16.44. Applications are accepted on an ongoing basis and there is no application deadline.

International students can work at the Bookstore without a work permit, because it's on campus — but have to maintain full-time student status with a study permit.

Note: SFU's job postings board is updated twice a week; keep an eye on it if you think you might be interested in an administrative career in academia. The Temp Pool (pdf) also has part-time jobs come up regularly.

We've also created a page which lists other campus places which regularly hire students.

This was published back in June but bookstore job postings are cyclical and should appear several times over the next few months. Just keep an eye on the SFU job postings board (see link above), or subscribe to this blog, or join our grad students facebook group, where we post even more jobs as they come up.

Hi I was wondering if applicants can submit an application to the bookstore whenever or if they have to wait until another posting appears.

They normally appear on the SFU job postings website.
