Nominations are now being accepted for the CGS/ProQuest Distinguished Dissertation Award:

These awards are made annually to individuals who, in the opinion of the award committee, have completed dissertations representing original work that makes an unusually significant contribution to the discipline.

The effective date of degree award, or the completion of doctoral degree requirements and dissertation, must lie in the period of July 1, 2011 to June 30, 2013.

In 2013, there are two categories for the nominations:

The prize is an honorarium of $2,000 and a certificate of citation, to be presented at the Council of Graduate Schools annual meeting, December 4–7, 2013 in San Diego, California.

SFU may nominate one dissertation in each category. To be considered for that nomination, please contact your graduate program assistant and/or chair as soon as possible. (Departments must submit their nomination package to Graduate Studies by July 17.)

An awards committee will review all submissions and make SFU's nomination by the award's deadline of July 31, 2013.
