External Awards: SSHRC Connection Grants

June 28, 2013

Social Science and Humanities Research Council Connection Grants are valued at $7,000 to $25,000 for events, and up to $50,000 for other outreach activities.

Connection Grants proposals are expected to meet the objectives of the Connection program, which, among other things, should facilitate and support the dissemitation of knowledge among scholars and the wider public, through workshops, colloquiums, conferences, forums, summer institutes or other events.

"Particular importance will be placed on applications proposing open-access and open-source approaches to knowledge mobilization."

Graduate students may lead the proposal, but only a Faculty member (e.g. your Supervisor) may submit the proposal.

Eligible postdoctoral researchers may submit their applications directly to SSHRC through this page.

See this page for detailed description of the grant, elligibitlity, application process, priority areas, and evaluation criteria.

There is no deadline for the Connection Grant, and applications may be submitted anytime "well in advance of the start date of the proposed event or outreach activity."
