External Award: Grand Challenges Explorations Grant

Grand Challenges in Global Health is a family of grant programs that focuses on improving health in the developing world. In 2008, the Bill & Meilinda Gates Foundation launched their $100,000 million program, which accepts bold and unconventional solutions to persistent problems: see topics (incl. designing the Next Generation Condom.)
Each grant is valued at $100,000, with the oppotunity for a follow-up grant of up to $1 million.
Applications are submitted online, and are only two pages long.
The grant program is open to anyone from any discipline, from student to tenured professor, and from any organization.
Application deadline is May 7, 2013 at 11:30 a.m. Pacific Daylight Time.
